Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York

...Trend Toward Drier Weather Continues...

.DISCUSSION...
Showers were isolated over the area on Saturday and early this
morning isolated showers continued across parts of northern
Vermont. Rainfall amounts with this activity will generally be
less than a tenth of an inch. Satellite imagery shows clear skies
across southeast Ontario and western Quebec on the backside of the
upper trough that is producing the isolated showers over our area.
This drier air is associated with high pressure and will be moving
into the region as the day wears on. The high will be over the
area tonight and gradually move east on Monday. Afternoon relative
humidities will be in the 45 to 55 percent range today...but down
in the 35 to 45 percent range on Monday as warmer temperatures are
expected. No precipitation is expected today through early
Tuesday. A large trough of low pressure will eventually move
toward the region Tuesday and Wednesday. Warmer and more humid
conditions are expected on Tuesday and the threat for showers and
thunderstorms will be increasing later Tuesday and especially
Tuesday night.
