FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
432 AM CDT WED SEP 2 2015

.DISCUSSION...
THE NORTHERN PORTION OF A WEAK UPPER-LEVEL AREA OF LOW PRESSURE
CENTERED ACROSS THE NORTHWEST GULF COAST WILL IMPACT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY TODAY AND TONIGHT. THIS
FEATURE WILL MAINTAIN A THICK CANOPY OF HIGH-LEVEL CLOUDS AND
MAY BRING A FEW SHOWERS TO THE REGION TODAY/TONIGHT...BEFORE
SHIFTING TO THE SOUTHEAST OF THE AREA ON THURSDAY. ALTHOUGH
LIGHT WINDS THROUGH THE TRANSPORT LAYER WILL LEAD TO GENERALLY
POOR-FAIR DISPERSION TODAY...A STRONGER NORTHEAST FLOW IN THE
WAKE OF THE DISTURBANCE WILL LEAD TO AN IMPROVEMENT IN
DISPERSION ON THURSDAY. THE THREAT FOR PATCHY LIGHT FOG WILL
CONTINUE TONIGHT...MAINLY IN LOCAL RIVER VALLEYS. CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE THIS WEEKEND...AS A
BACKDOOR COLD FRONT PUSHES WESTWARD THROUGH THE REGION. A WARM
AND HUMID AIRMASS WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF THE
NEXT WORK WEEK...WITH PRIMARILY AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND STORMS
EXPECTED.
