Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
329 AM CDT Sun Apr 30 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING FOR WINDY AND DRY CONDITIONS ALONG AND WEST OF
THE PECOS RIVER IN WEST TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Despite a chilly start this morning, and high temperatures rising to
only 5-10 degrees below normal this afternoon, think locations along
and west of the Pecos River in west Texas will have several hours of
critical fire weather conditions. Will issue a Red Flag Warning for
these areas form 100 pm until 800 pm CDT. Recovery tonight and
Monday night will be poor most locations, while at least near
critical fire weather conditions will be possible over the western
half of the forecast area Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
