FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
223 PM PDT THU APR 17 2014

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...AN ADVANCING FRONT WILL CAUSE STEADY RAIN TO
BECOME MORE SHOWERY THIS EVENING. DRIER CONDITIONS SHOULD RETURN
FRIDAY BEFORE ANOTHER FRONTAL SYSTEM IMPACTS THE AREA SATURDAY.
ADDITIONAL WET WEATHER LOOKS ON TAP EARLY NEXT WEEK.

.DISCUSSION...AN ADVANCING FRONT WILL CAUSE STEADY RAIN TO BECOME
SHOWERY THIS EVENING. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL THEN SHIFT
NORTHWARD FRIDAY...RESULTING IN INCREASING SUNSHINE DURING THE DAY
AND LOWER MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES. ANOTHER FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL
IMPACT THE AREA SATURDAY...BUT ASIDE FROM WEST FACING SLOPES OF THE
CASCADES AND COAST RANGE...WETTING RAINS APPEAR UNLIKELY AT THIS
POINT. SUNDAY SHOULD BE ANOTHER IN BETWEEN DAY WITH SHOWERS POSSIBLY
LINGERING ACROSS OUR NORTHERN ZONES. A MORE ORGANIZED AND SLOW
MOVING STORM SYSTEM WILL CAUSE TEMPERATURES TO DROP SLIGHTLY BELOW
NORMAL...AND BRING SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERY WEATHER TO THE REGION
MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. MODELS SUGGEST ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM MAY
IMPACT THE REGION LATE IN THE WEEK AS WELL.
