Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
215 PM PDT Wed Apr 26 2017

...CONTINUED COOL AND UNSETTLED THROUGH THURSDAY...
...DRYING TREND FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Cool and unsettled conditions will persist
Thursday, but a gradual drying trend looks to begin Friday. High
pressure spreads over the area Saturday, but another weak front
moves through the region Sunday. Warmer and drier weather returns
for the middle and latter half of next week.

.DISCUSSION...A strong jet stream remains aimed at Oregon
today, but will sag a little south tonight and Thursday. Cool and
unsettled conditions persist Thursday. High pressure well offshore
starts to shift toward the coast Friday, for the start of a brief
drying trend. The ridge moves inland Saturday, which will allow
slightly above-normal daytime temperatures. However, the ridge looks
to be short-lived as longer range models show another weak front
moving into the area Sunday. The first part of next week looks cool
and moist as well. However, models also show a return to warmer and
drier conditions around the middle of next week.
