Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
343 PM CDT Fri Aug 18 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Struggling isolated showers have developed across portions of
central LA, deep east TX and southwest AR late this aftn, due to
daytime destabilization and lingering weak frontal boundary. This
precipitation activity is anticipated to diminish a few hours
after sunset. Ensuing light southerly winds this evening-tonight
will allow for excellent relative humidity recovery /85-95
percent/. Daytime temeratures this weekend will warm/a few degrees
above seasonal normals. Chances for showers and thunderstorms
will be more or less along and east of a Dequeen, AR to
Shreveport, LA to San Augustine, TX line tomorrow afternoon, and
more so from a Dequeen, AR to Henderson, TX to Lufkin, TX line
Sunday afternoon. This weekend`s convection is anticipated to be
diurnally driven. Despite the warm temps, 20-foot southerly wind
speeds of around 5 mph or less will maintain a moist low level
moisture. As such, peak heating humidities will only drop to 45-60
percent each afternoon, with overnight humidities in the 85-95
percent range. Chances for rainfall coupled with high humidities
and rather light 20-foot wind speeds will result in nil fire
weather concerns.
