SPOT FORECAST FOR BAKER FACE RX
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
842 AM MDT SUN MAR 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...WEAK MID LEVEL TROUGH ACROSS IRON AND BEAVER COUNTIES
TODAY WHICH WILL FOCUS SOME INSTABILITY THIS AFTERNOON. HOWEVER
ITS A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE THAT ANY SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM WILL
DEVELOP OVER THE BAKER BURN. IF ANYTHING DOES DEVELOP IT WILL DO
SO EAST OF THE BURN OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN. MY MAIN CONCERN FOR
TODAY AFTER VIEWING SEVERAL COMPUTER MODEL FORECASTS IS THAT THE
WINDS WILL BE MORE WEST TO NORTHWEST THIS AFTERNOON WITH ONLY ONE
MODEL SHOWING A SOUTHWEST COMPONENT. THE HEATING OF THE WEST
SOUTHWEST SLOPE COULD PROMOTE A SOUTHWEST FLOW FOR AN HOUR OR TWO
BUT THE FLOW ALOFT WILL PROBABLY DOMINATE AFTER THAT.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT ALL MODELS AGREE WITH A SOUTHWEST WIND
MONDAY AND TUESDAY WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND LOW RH. SOME
CLOUDS BUT LIKELY LESS THAN 30 PERCENT CLOUD COVER. TUESDAY
APPEARS TO BE YOUR BANNER DAY.
