SPOT FORECAST FOR SOLITUDE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
442 AM MDT MON AUG 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...STABLE SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE IN THE WAKE OF
YESTERDAYS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MAINTAIN LIGHT WINDS LARGELY
DRIVEN BY DIURNAL SLOPE FLOWS. ABOVE THIS STABLE LAYER
SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW WILL PREVAIL WHICH MAY AFFECT THE UPPER
RIDGELINES ACROSS THE BURN AREA. LINGERING MOISTURE WILL SUPPORT
A SMALL CHANCE FOR ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS
AFTERNOON...WHICH WOULD BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WETTING RAINS
IN ADDITION TO GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS AND LIGHTNING.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL STRENGTHEN ACROSS THE REGION TUESDAY RESULTING
IN A DRYING AND WARMING TREND. WITH THIS HIGH STRENGTHENING
OVERHEAD WINDS AT THE SITE WILL LARGELY REMAIN LIGHT...AND
DRIVEN ONCE AGAIN BY SLOPE FLOWS.

THE MIDDLE PORTION OF THE WEEK LOOKS TO REMAIN DRY AND SEASONAL.
A WEATHER SYSTEM PASSING NORTH OF THE AREA WEDNESDAY WILL
STRENGTHEN SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW ACROSS THE AREA. IT LOOKS
INCREASINGLY LIKELY MOISTURE WILL RETURN NORTHWARD INTO THE
REGION FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...WITH AN ATTENDANT THREAT FOR
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ONCE AGAIN CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
WETTING RAINS.
