...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

HIGH WATER LEVELS CONTINUE TO RISE ALONG THE SNOW RIVER...KENAI LAKE
AND KENAI RIVER. MINOR FLOODING KENAI LAKE AND KENAI RIVER IS
OCCURRING. SLOW RISE EXPECTED THIS EVENING BEFORE SLOWLY RECEDING
DURING THE DAY FRIDAY.

FLOOD POTENTIAL IS CURRENTLY LOW OVER THE REST OF THE STATE.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

UPPER RIDGING IS BREAKING DOWN WITH TWO UPPER LOWS DEVELOPING. ONE
IS MOVING INTO THE BERING SEA... AND THE OTHER IS DEVELOPING OVER
NORTHERN YUKON TERRITORY. THERE IS ALSO AN UPPER LEVEL SHORT WAVE
WITH AN ASSOCIATED SURFACE LOW MOVING WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE
NORTHERN GULF OF ALASKA. THIS LAST FEATURE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST
OF THE RAIN OVER ALASKA.

CURRENTLY RAINING OVER MUCH OF SOUTH-CENTRAL ALASKA. UP TO AN INCH
OF RAIN THROUGH TONIGHT EXPECTED. BULK OF THE RAIN WILL MOVE OVER
THE PANHANDLE FOR FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT... WITH UP TO 2 INCHES
POSSIBLE IN THE YAKUTAT AREA. DRYING TREND FOR THE WEEKEND. STILL
RAIN OVER MUCH OF THE GULF COAST... BUT AMOUNTS WILL BE LESS THAN A
QUARTER INCH.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE PANHANDLE AND THE ALEUTIAN
ISLANDS. THE NORTH SLOPE HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN MAINLAND AND THE
PANHANDLE.
