300 PM AKDT FRI MAR 27 2015

...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR THE STATE OF ALASKA.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

A LARGE LOW PRESSURE SOUTH OF THE AKPEN WILL WILL KEEP ON-SHORE
FLOW... WITH OCCASIONAL EMBEDDED DISTURBANCES... OVER SOUTHEAST
ALASKA AND MUCH OF THE NORTHERN AND WESTERN GULF COAST THIS WEEKEND
INTO NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL KEEP PERIODS OF PRECIPITATION OVER
SOUTHEAST ALASKA AND THE NORTH GULF COAST AND SCATTERED SHOWERS
LIKELY OVER THE REST OF THE STATE. THIS WILL ALSO KEEP NEAR NORMAL
TO WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER MUCH OF THE STATE.

...SNOW DEPTH...

OVER THE PAST WEEK SNOW DEPTHS DECREASED SLIGHTLY STATEWIDE. SNOW
WATER EQUIVALENTS ARE LESS THAN 50% OF NORMAL ON THE KENAI PENINSULA
AND LESS THAN 75% OF NORMAL OVER MUCH OF SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA...
WHILE SNOW WATER EQUIVALENTS ARE GENERALLY BETWEEN 50 AND 110% OF
NORMAL IN MUCH OF THE COPPER RIVER BASIN AND THE INTERIOR.

...ICE THICKNESS...

ICE THICKNESS MEASURED NEAR THE BEGINNING OF MARCH INCLUDED: 20 TO
39 INCHES IN THE MIDDLE TANANA BASIN... 39 INCHES AT EAGLE ON THE
YUKON... 23 INCHES IN ANCHORAGE... 24 INCHES ON THE GULKANA RIVER
AT SOURDOUGH... 26 INCHES AT MCGRATH... 34 TO 35 INCHES ON THE LOWER
KUSKOKWIM... AND 62 INCHES AT COLVILLE VILLAGE.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER SOUTHEAST ALASKA... THE SOUTHERN
MAINLAND... AND OVER MUCH OF INTERIOR ALASKA.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER
THE ENTIRE STATE AS THE MOST LIKELY OUTCOME FOR THE PERIOD.
