THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Elevated Fire Weather Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Dry conditions today with relative humidity values in the upper 20s to
mid 30s in some spots coupled with modest southeast winds will lead
to a limited to elevated fire weather risk today. Showers and a few
thunderstorms are possible overnight, with the best chance across
north central Illinois. Severe weather is not expected through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday...
  Elevated Flooding Risk.
  Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday through Sunday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A more active pattern will set up for the latter half of the
week, with periods of thunderstorms appearing likely both
Wednesday and then again over the weekend. Strong to severe thunderstorms
will be a concern on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Afternoon or
early evening discrete storms could pose a hail threat, but the main concern
will be heavy rain along with damaging winds, as several models suggest
storms could congeal into a line Wednesday evening. Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall
will be possible again during the weekend. The heavy rain may lead to
additional river flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving northeast at 40 to 45 mph.
