...FREEZING TEMPERATURES POSSIBLE TONIGHT IMMEDIATELY ALONG THE
RIO GRANDE RIVER...

.A cold front will sweep over New Mexico today, leading to a
chilly night tonight. While much of the Albuquerque metro
area will likely hover a few degrees above freezing, some
sheltered areas immediately along the middle Rio Grande River
valley could observe a couple hours of freezing temperatures early
Sunday morning. This will include localized portions of Corrales,
Los Ranchos, Los Lunas, the Isleta Pueblo, and Belen.

...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Freeze
Watch, which is in effect from late tonight through Sunday
morning.

* LOCATION...Sheltered areas immediately along the middle Rio
  Grande River valley from Corrales, Los Ranchos, Isleta Pueblo,
  Los Lunas, and Belen.

* TIMING...Temperatures are expected to fall close to freezing
  between 2 AM and 8 AM MDT Sunday morning with minimum
  temperatures generally occurring shortly after sunrise between 7
  AM and 8 AM MDT.

* TEMPERATURES...Minimum temperatures will range between 26 to 33
  in sheltered areas immediately along the Rio Grande River. Some
  surrounding areas of the Albuquerque metro area will likely
  hover a few degrees above freezing in the mid 30s.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Agricultural interests can expect freezing
  temperatures which may damage sensitive vegetation or crops
  immediately along the Rio Grande River. Irrigation pipes and
  water supply lines to evaporative coolers may freeze and become
  damaged.

A Freeze Watch means conditions are favorable for a hazardous
freeze event in and close to the watch area. Monitor the latest
forecasts at weather.gov/abq, listen to NOAA weather radio or
your favorite media outlet.
