GRASS FIRE DANGER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX
316 AM CST MON DEC 11 2017

...ELEVATED FIRE THREAT MONDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS ALL OF NORTH
TEXAS...

NEAR-RECORD WARMTH WILL OCCUR TODAY AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES
WILL FALL TO 10-20 PERCENT ACROSS MOST OF NORTH TEXAS. DUE TO THE
LACK OF RAINFALL OVER THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS...FUELS HAVE BECOME
VERY FAVORABLE FOR THE IGNITION AND GROWTH OF GRASSFIRES AS
INDICATED BY HIGH ERC VALUES. WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO
15 MPH THIS AFTERNOON...AND WHEN COMBINED WITH WARM AND DRY
CONDITIONS...THE ENVIRONMENT WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
AND SPREAD OF GRASSFIRES.

EXTREME CARE IS URGED DURING ALL OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES WHERE THERE
IS A POTENTIAL FOR GRASS FIRES TO GET STARTED. AVOID OUTSIDE
BURNING AND WELDING. DO NOT TOSS LIT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUTSIDE.
REPORT WILD FIRES TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICE QUICKLY.
