.DISCUSSION...THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX WILL RANGE FROM THE
LOW TO HIGH CATEGORIES TODAY. THE WEATHER TODAY WILL BE MOSTLY
SUNNY AND WARM...WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S AND 90S. THE
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL FALL TO AROUND 20 PERCENT OVER
PARTS OF FAR SOUTHWESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA...AND TO 30 TO 45 PERCENT
OVER MUCH OF THE REST OF WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA. WINDS THIS
AFTERNOON WILL GENERALLY BE SOUTHERLY AT 15 TO 25 MPH...STRONGEST
OVER CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA.

ON FRIDAY...THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX IS EXPECTED TO BE IN
THE LOW TO HIGH CATEGORIES AGAIN.

ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE TO HIGH
POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE
RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS
ARE USUALLY LOWER AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.
