REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
352 PM EDT FRI MAR 27 2015

YESTERDAYS COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE BROUGHT ONE QUARTER TO THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL TO THE COAL FIELDS. MORNING LOWS
WERE IN THE 35 TO 40 DEGREES RANGE AND WERE CLOSE TO SEASONAL
NORMALS. NORMAL LOWS FOR LATE MARCH RUN AROUND 39 TO 40 DEGREES.
SKIES BEHIND THE COLD FRONT REMAINED MOSTLY CLOUDY KEEPING
TEMPERATURES NEARLY STEADY THROUGH LUNCHTIME. NOONTIME
TEMPERATURES HAD RISEN INTO THE LOW 40S AND A NORTH WIND AT 10 MPH
ADDED MORE CHILL TO THE AIR.

SKIES WILL REMAIN MOSTLY CLOUDY THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS AS
TEMPERATURES BEGIN THEIR DECENT. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF SOME
LIGHT RAIN THIS EVENING WITH MIDNIGHT TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BE
NEAR 30 DEGREES. BY SATURDAY MORNING TEMPERATURES SHOULD BOTTOM
OUT IN THE LOW 20S UNDER LESS CLOUDY SKIES.

SOME SUNSHINE CAN BE EXPECTED ON SATURDAY...HOWEVER TEMPERATURES
WILL ONLY RISE TO AROUND 40 DEGREES. SOME OF THE COLDEST LATE
MARCH TEMPERATURES IN DECADES ARE EXPECTED ON SUNDAY MORNING.

ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS
FORECASTING TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER TEENS TO LOWER 20S ON
SUNDAY MORNING...WITH POSSIBLY A FEW MID TEENS. SINCE 1981 THE
JACKSON OFFICE HAS NEVER RECORDED A LOW TEMPERATURE IN THE TEENS
DURING THE LAST WEEK OF MARCH. ON MARCH 17TH...2013 JACKSON
RECORDED A LOW OF 17 DEGREES. THE RECORD LOW FOR LONDON ON MARCH
29TH IS 17 DEGREES AND OCCURRED BACK IN 1966. THIS WEEKEND LOOKS
TO BE VERY COLD. THIS WEEKEND/S FORECASTED LOW TEMPERATURES ARE
COLDER THAN ANY WE HAVE SEEN AT THE END OF MARCH FOR ALMOST 50
YEARS.
