...RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW TODAY AND TONIGHT...

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL BRING RAIN SHOWERS THIS MORNING ALONG
WITH INCREASING WINDS. THE COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO REACH
HUMBOLDT COUNTY AROUND NOON TODAY, AND REACH U.S. HIGHWAY 50 BY
LATE THIS AFTERNOON. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW QUICKLY WITH COLD
FRONT PASSAGE. EXPECT WIND GUSTS TO NEAR 50 MPH, ESPECIALLY ON
PASSES AND SUMMITS, AND JUST AHEAD OF COLD FRONT PASSAGE. SNOW
AMOUNTS WILL BE LIMITED TO NEAR ONE INCH OR LESS FOR MOST VALLEYS
THROUGH TONIGHT, WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO 4 INCHES ON
FAVORED NORTHWEST FACING SLOPES. SNOW AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO
REMAIN BELOW ADVISORY CRITERIA, BUT SOME ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK
AND SNOW COVERED THROUGH TONIGHT.

TRAVELERS SHOULD SLOW DOWN AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR
DESTINATION THROUGH TONIGHT.
