...ENHANCED THREAT FOR THE SPREAD OF WILDFIRES SUNDAY...

A DRY COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE AREA OVERNIGHT. WINDS WILL PICK UP
BEHIND THE FRONT ON SUNDAY...WHICH WILL RESULT IN DRY AND BLUSTERY
CONDITIONS. WESTERLY WINDS WILL BE SUSTAINED AROUND 15 MPH WITH
FREQUENT GUSTS AROUND 25 TO 30 MPH ACROSS CENTRAL VIRGINIA SUNDAY
AFTERNOON.

DUE TO THE WINDS...THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 25
TO 35 PERCENT. THESE WINDY AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL ALLOW FUELS TO
DRY OUT FURTHER. FINER FUELS WILL DRY OUT FIRST. THE COMBINATION
OF GUSTY WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND RELATIVELY LOW FUEL
MOISTURE WILL ENHANCE THE THREAT FOR SPREAD OF WILDFIRES.

OPEN BURNING OF ANY TYPE IS CONSIDERED VERY HAZARDOUS THIS TIME OF
YEAR. ACCIDENTAL ESCAPED DEBRIS BURNS ARE THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF
WILDFIRES.
