URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Potent late season winter system...

.A north Pacific storm will move through southern Idaho Thursday
and Thursday night. The storm`s cold front will arrive Thursday
morning, and the snow level will quickly lower to 4000 feet MSL
behind the front. Several inches of snow will accumulate in the
southwest Idaho highlands and southern Twin Falls County Thursday
afternoon and night. In addition, west or northwest winds will
increase to 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph behind the cold
front Thursday, and will continue to blow 25 to 35 mph through
Thursday night.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO
6 AM MDT FRIDAY...

* SNOW AMOUNTS...1 to 4 inches. 6 to 11 inches in the mountains.

* SNOW LEVELS...8000 feet MSL lowering to 4000 feet by Thursday
  afternoon.

* WINDS...West or northwest 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph in
  exposed locations Thursday afternoon.

* TIMING...Cold front passage on Thursday morning will lower snow
  levels by Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel may become difficult especially on Highway 51
  and portions of Highway 93 with reduced visibility due to
  blowing snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will primarily cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
