URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC
805 AM EST Wed Jan 17 2018

..SNOW AND BLACK ICE EXPECTED ACROSS PARTS OF THE WESTERN
CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA TODAY...

.A strong cold front will cross the region east of the mountains
this morning. A band of light to moderate snow will accompany the
front as it passes. In addition to the snow accumulation, quickly
falling temperatures will allow the snow to stick, and/or any
water on untreated roads to quickly freeze, resulting in numerous
travel problems. The snow should end from west to east this
morning through this afternoon, although cold temperatures are
expected to result in only gradual improvement to road conditions.
