...WIDESPREAD HIGHS IN THE 80S...

THE HIGH TEMPERATURE THIS AFTERNOON AT CARIBOU WAS 84 DEGREES. NOT
ONLY DID THIS BREAK THE PREVIOUS RECORD HIGH OF 77 DEGREES SET IN
1946...IT WAS THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER SO LATE IN THE SEASON.
PRIOR TO TODAY...THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER OBSERVED SO LATE IN
THE SEASON WAS 82 DEGREES ON OCTOBER 9, 2011.

AT HOULTON...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY WAS ALSO 84 DEGREES. THIS
BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD HIGH OF 77 DEGREES SET IN 1959. NOT ONLY
WAS IT A DAILY RECORD...BUT IT WAS ALSO THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE
EVER OBSERVED SO LATE IN THE SEASON. PRIOR TO TODAY...THE WARMEST
TEMPERATURE EVER OBSERVED SO LATE IN THE SEASON WAS 82 DEGREES ON
OCTOBER 9, 1970.

AT BANGOR...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY WAS ALSO A RECORD SETTING
84 DEGREES. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 83 DEGREES IN 1948.
AT BANGOR TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 90S HAVE BEEN OBSERVED AS LATE
AS OCTOBER 13TH. ON OCTOBER 13, 1930, THE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 92
DEGREES.

AT MILLINOCKET...THE HIGH TODAY OF 85 DEGREES SMASHED THE OLD
RECORD OF 79 DEGREES SET IN 1916. IT WAS ALSO THE WARMEST
TEMPERATURE EVER OBSERVED SO LATE IN THE SEASON. PRIOR TO
TODAY...THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER OBSERVED SO LATE IN THE
SEASON WAS 83 DEGREES ON OCTOBER 18, 1947.
