...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN ASHTABULA AND SOUTHWESTERN ERIE COUNTIES...

At 848 PM EDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in
Millcreek Township where between 4 and 5 inches of rain have fallen
early this evening.

Flooding in Millcreek Township included an estimated 100 homes in
the area that were damaged by flood water or had significant
basement flooding. Ten roads were also reported closed and one home
located on a bluff that collapsed due to flowing flood water.

Significant flooding was occurred in Fairview and Lake City where
stranded motorists had to be rescued from their cars, some with
water to the windows.

Additional flooding in the area is very likely.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Conneaut, Girard, North Kingsville, Lake City, Platea, McKean,
Kelloggsville, Avonia and Middleboro.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
