...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR EASTERN HOLMES COUNTY UNTIL
1230 AM EDT...

AT 942 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT
THE HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED. WATER COULD STILL BE RISING AS 1 TO
LOCALLY 2 INCHES OF RAIN FELL DURING THE EARLY EVENING. THE GROUND
IS SATURATED SO THE WATER WILL ONLY SLOWLY RECEDE DURING THE NIGHT.

AROUND 830 PM SOME FLOODING WAS REPORTED NEAR WALNUT CREEK AND IN
THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF HOLMES COUNTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN! BE ALERT FOR LOW
SPOTS...DIPS...AND UNDERPASSES WHICH MAY BE FLOODED. PEOPLE IN LOW
LYING AREAS ALONG CREEKS AND STREAMS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO
ESCAPE RISING WATER LEVELS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN!
