URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...BITTERLY COLD AIR AND LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED...

.AN ARCTIC AIRMASS WILL DESCEND OVER THE REGION LATER TODAY. LAKE
EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL QUICKLY DEVELOP LATE TODAY AND CONTINUE
THROUGH SATURDAY. MOISTURE FROM LAKE HURON COULD ENHANCE THE SNOW
SHOWERS AND LEAD TO SOME INTENSE BANDS OF SNOW TONIGHT.
INTERSTATES 90 AND 79 COULD BE IMPACTED BY HEAVY SNOW.  IN
ADDITION...STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER THE ENTIRE
AREA LATER TODAY. WIND CHILLS WILL DIP BELOW MINUS 1O DEGREES BY
LATE EVENING. THE DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS WILL THEN CONTINUE INTO
SUNDAY MORNING.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
10 PM EST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A LAKE
EFFECT SNOW WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 10 PM EST SATURDAY. THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCH IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE BY EARLY
  EVENING WITH AN ADDITIONAL 6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW TONIGHT WHERE
  THE STRONGER BANDS SET UP. THERE WILL BE A LOT OF VARIABILITY IN
  SNOWFALL AMOUNTS. AN ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ON
  SATURDAY. A FEW LOCATIONS COULD SEE A TOTAL OF 18 INCHES OR
  MORE OF SNOW BY SATURDAY EVENING.

* TIMING...A BURST OF SNOW WILL ACCOMPANY THE PASSAGE OF A COLD
  FRONT LATE THIS AFTERNOON. LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS WILL DEVELOP
  BEHIND THE FRONT AND BE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT. THE SNOW WILL
  CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY BEFORE GRADUALLY DIMINISHING SATURDAY
  NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...SNOW COVERED ROADS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY DURING
  HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS AND SQUALLS.

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...AIR TEMPERATURES FROM 2 BELOW TO 20 ABOVE ZERO.
  WINDS CHILLS WILL FALL BELOW MINUS 10 THIS EVENING. DANGEROUS
  WIND CHILLS ARE THEN EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY
  MORNING. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY OR WARNING WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED
  ONCE THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW ENDS.

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW
IN NARROW BANDS TO DRY WEATHER JUST A FEW MILES AWAY. IF YOU WILL
BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
EST SUNDAY.

* WIND CHILL...WIND CHILLS WILL DIP BELOW MINUS 10 THIS EVENING
  AND COULD GET AS LOW AS MINUS 20 AT TIMES TONIGHT. WIND CHILLS
  MAY BRIEFLY CLIMB ABOVE MINUS 10 ON SATURDAY BUT WILL FALL BACK
  BELOW MINUS 10 SATURDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...WIND CHILLS WILL REACH DANGEROUS LEVELS. FRIGID
  TEMPERATURES HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO RESULT IN FROZEN PIPES...
  FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...LOWS TONIGHT FROM 5 ABOVE TO 5 BELOW WITH HIGHS
  SATURDAY FROM 10 TO 15 DEGREES. LOWS SATURDAY NIGHT COULD BE AS
  COLD AS MINUS 10 AT TRADITIONAL COLD SPOTS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS
ISSUED WHEN STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO
CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL
MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 10 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR A
PERIOD OF SEVERAL HOURS. IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS USE COMMON SENSE
AND DRESS WARMLY...MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN IS COVERED.
IF POSSIBLE...AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE COLD TO PREVENT
FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA. STAY TUNED TO WEATHER RADIO FOR FURTHER
