...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF THE GRAND CANYON
SOUTH RIM THROUGH 430 PM MST...

At 352 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Grand Canyon Airport, or 23 miles west of Desert View at Grand
Canyon, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Maricopa Point At Grand Canyon, Hermit`s Rest At Grand Canyon,
Tusayan, Monument Creek Vista, Shoshone Point At Grand Canyon,
Hermit`s Rest, Pima Point At Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon Airport, Hopi
Point, Grandview Point, Hopi Point At Grand Canyon, Yaki Point,
Havasupai Gardens CG, Yaqui Point At Grand Canyon, Grandview Point At
Grand Canyon, South Rim Visitors Center, Grand Canyon - South Rim,
Pipe Creek Vista, Pipe Creek Resthouse, and Grand Canyon Village.

This includes State Route 64 between mile markers 233 and 237.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
