5 DAY ICE DISCUSSION... HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD OVER THE
REGION FROM THE SOUTH MOST OF THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES
MILD AND LEAD TO CONTINUED ICE DETERIORATION IN THE SOUTH AND LITTLE
IF ANY GROWTH IN THE NORTH. BY LATE SUNDAY...LOW PRESSURE WILL BE NEAR
LAKE SUPERIOR. THIS LOW WILL MOVE OVER THE CENTRAL LAKES ON MONDAY AND
FINALLY PUSH THE SURFACE HIGH OFF TO THE SOUTHEAST. THE LOW WILL
LINGER OVER THE REGION ON TUESDAY AND FINALLY SHIFT TO THE EAST COAST
ON WEDNESDAY. COLDER AIR WILL BEGIN TO FILTER OVER THE WESTERN AND
NORTHERN LAKES TUESDAY AND WILL REACH THE EASTERN END OF THE REGION ON
WEDNESDAY. TEMPERATURES ON TUESDAY WILL AVERAGE BELOW NORMAL IN THE
WEST WITH BELOW NORMAL TO MUCH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES EXPECTED
REGION WIDE ON WEDNESDAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN NEW ICE FORMATION. THE
WESTERN BASIN OF LAKE ERIE SHOULD AGAIN ICE OVER LATE NEXT WEEK.
SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED MOST AREAS OVER THE WEEKEND AND AHEAD OF
THE LOW INTO NEXT WEEK. STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP ON THE
BACKSIDE OF THE LOW WITH GALES POSSIBLE BY THE END OF THE PERIOD.
