the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT
FOR CENTRAL JONES AND NORTHERN ONSLOW COUNTIES...

At 825 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Petersburg, or
7 miles north of Half Moon, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Jacksonville, Half Moon, Richlands, Maysville, Comfort, Belgrade,
Petersburg, Albert J Ellis Airport, Richlands South, Deppe, Loco VFD,
Pollocksville, and Hargetts Crossroads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Newport.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
