The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX from 20 to 60
  NM...
  Waters from High Island to Freeport TX from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 1045 AM CDT.

* At 953 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing wind
  gusts of 34 knots or greater and waterspouts were located along a
  line extending from near High Island A131 to near Galveston A250,
  moving southeast at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Galveston A122, High Island A131, Galveston A196, Galveston A250,
  High Island A410, Galveston A171, High Island A457, and Galveston
  A156.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
