HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY
524 PM EDT WED APR 1 2015 /424 PM CDT WED APR 1 2015/

...HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL
KENTUCKY OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS...

THE LATEST FORECASTS INDICATE THAT SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT TWO
DAYS AS SEVERAL WEATHER SYSTEMS AFFECT THE AREA.

CURRENT TOTAL ACCUMULATED RAINFALL FORECASTS OF ONE AND A HALF TO
AS MUCH AS THREE INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH LATE FRIDAY
NIGHT. AT THIS TIME...THE AXIS OF HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS FORECAST TO
BE ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN INDIANA AND THE FAR NORTHERN PORTIONS
OF KENTUCKY ALONG THE OHIO RIVER.

CURRENTLY...THE RIVERS IN OUR AREA AREA ALL WELL BELOW FLOOD
STAGE. HOWEVER...THE GROUND IS STILL RELATIVELY MOIST FROM THE
LAST FEW WEEKS OF RAINFALL. BECAUSE OF THIS...RAPID RUNOFF FROM
HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE AND THAT WOULD RESULT IN SMALLER RIVERS
AND STREAMS QUICKLY FILLING UP OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THIS
WILL BE ESPECIALLY TRUE IF THUNDERSTORMS MOVE OVER THE SAME AREAS
REPEATEDLY.

FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND TYPICAL FLOOD PRONE AREAS WILL BE
POSSIBLE BEGINNING THURSDAY AND CONTINUING INTO FRIDAY. PERSONS IN
AND NEAR TO FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD BE ON ALERT FOR POSSIBLY HIGH
WATER PROBLEMS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
