683 FNUS54 KHUN 041937 FWFHUN Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama National Weather Service Huntsville AL 237 PM CDT Sat May 4 2024 .DISCUSSION... A bit more sunshine is expected on Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Expect this activity to increase in coverage Sunday night. Light and variable 20 foot winds are expected with southwesterly transport winds between 5 and 10 mph as well. Mixing Heights are expected to climb above 7000 feet in the afternoon. Afternoon relative humidity values will remain high, only dropping to between 50 and 55 percent. 20 foot winds from the southwest around 10 mph are expected on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will continue, especially in the morning and early afternoon before moving east of the area Monday night. Southwesterly transport winds will increase to between 15 and 20 mph. Mixing heights again will climb well above 6000 feet to around 7000 feet in the afternoon. Afternoon relative humidity values will remain high, only dropping to between 50 and 55 percent. Fog potential over the next few days: Some isolated to very patchy fog is possible, especially near bodies of water. Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None are expected with such high afternoon relative humidity values expected.
