.DISCUSSION...
Areas of frost are possible this morning in far northeast Georgia
thus a Frost Advisory remains in effect until 9AM. High pressure
will remain situated across the Southeast today resulting in dry
and mostly clear conditions for North and Central Georgia. Minimum
RH values this afternoon will again range from 25 to 35% with the
lowest values across south- central Georgia and far North
Georgia. Looks like RH values did dip below 25% for a couple of
hours late yesterday evening across parts of North GA. While RH
values are expected to remain above critical thresholds will
continue to monitor as 10hr fuels continue to dry out today.
Though would not be surprised if, similar to yesterday, RH values
briefly dip below critical thresholds this afternoon. At this
time, a Fire Danger Statement has not been issued. Light surface
and 20ft winds this morning will give way to S/SSW winds at 6 to
12 MPH before becoming light (<7 MPH) and switching to the W
tonight. Transport winds are forecast to be out of the S/SSE in
Central GA at 7 to 12 and out of the SSW/SW across North GA at 12
to 18 MPH. Tonight transport winds are forecast to fully switch
over to the SW. Mixing heights will top out between 4 to 5kft this
afternoon.
