Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service Cheyenne WY
338 PM MDT Tue Jun 27 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE SOUTHERN LARAMIE RANGE
AND UPPER NORTH PLATTE RIVER VALLEY...

.DISCUSSION...

Quick update to earlier FWF issuance. A front moving northwest to
southeast across the district will bring gusty west northwest
across the plains of southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska
through this evening. The front at 330pm is situated from
Converse County to Carbon County and should move through
Torrington between 4-5pm. It should clear Cheyenne by 6pm and
Alliance/Kimball around 7pm. If any fire starts occur due to
current thunderstorm activity, gusty post-frontal winds may push
the fire along. Current widespread fuels are marked as
unsupportive of fire spread, but have reports that smaller areas
may be dry enough to see fire starts and fire spread with winds
shortly after the front passes, mainly in eastern portions of FWZ
310. Winds should ease through the late evening. The Red Flag
Warning for FWZ 306 and 309 continues through 7pm.
