This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

On Friday afternoon, near-critical fire weather conditions will
develop within north central Kansas, along with Nebraska counties
along and west of Highway 281, due to the combination of southerly
winds gusting 20 to 25 MPH, and relative humidity down to around
20 percent. For Nebraska counties east of Highway 281, winds will
be a bit lighter, holding down the fire threat.

Each afternoon from Saturday through Wednesday, except for Sunday
when winds will be lighter, at least parts of the area are
forecast to observe at least near-critical fire weather conditions
due to the combination of breezy to windy conditions, and
relative humidity down to at least 20 to 25 percent. At this time,
the most favored days to perhaps have outright-critical
conditions are Saturday mainly in north central Kansas, and Monday
mainly within counties west of Highway 281.

Monday into Tuesday, a powerful low pressure system will pass
through the region. Although details are still somewhat unclear,
thunderstorms will be possible across nearly our entire area
Monday evening into Tuesday, and there is a Slight Risk that some
storms especially Monday evening and overnight could be severe.
Details will gradually become clearer with time, so stay tuned to
future forecast updates for additional information.

In addition to any thunderstorm threat, this system will probably
produce strong winds area-wide, with the potential for sustained
speeds at least 30 MPH and gusts at least 45 MPH, initially out of
the south-southeast Monday afternoon into Monday night, and then
shifting to out of the west-northwest Tuesday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
