URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...Critical Fire Weather Conditions Forecast Sunday afternoon...

.A strong storm system looks to impact the region Sunday. A low
pressure system to looks to set up in the vicinity of the
Interstate 70 corridor bringing dry air into southwestern portions
of the area causing relative humidity values to fall into the mid
teens along with breezy southwest winds gusting 30-40 mph
throughout the day. A strong cold front then moves through the
area mid to late afternoon Sunday bringing a sudden windshift to
the north along with stronger winds potentially gusting in excess
of 50 mph. Blowing dust is also a possibility along the leading
edge of the front.

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES
FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 027, 028, 041, AND 042...

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity values,
which is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 027 Wallace, 028 Logan, 041
  Greeley and 042 Wichita.

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...around 15 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Upper 60s.

* Additional Information...A strong cold front will bring a sudden
  wind shift to the north during the mid to late afternoon hours
  with wind gusts around 50 mph accompanying it. Blowing dust may
  also occur with the front. This would create an extremely
  dangerous situation if a fire were to be ongoing.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

red flag warnings.
