  Alexander County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 645 PM EDT.

* At 540 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles south of
  Boomer, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
           wind damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Taylorsville, Stony Point, Vashti, Hiddenite, Millersville, and
  Lake Hickory.
