.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 434 AM CDT Tue Mar 26 2024

Today and Tonight: The threat for any severe weather or flash
flooding has ended although showers and thunderstorms will continue
over east Mississippi through mid morning before shifting east of
Mississippi. Early morning satellite imagery/RAP analysis showed the
circulation around a nearly stacked low spinning over northern
Missouri and southern Iowa. This low pressure system will continuing
tracking northeast over the Great Lakes region through tonight and
drag a cold front across our CWA this morning that will shift the
rain east of our CWA. The cold front will usher in much drier air
knocking PWATs back below a half inch by Wednesday morning. Although
a 1020mb high will build into our CWA from the northwest our winds
aloft will remain southwesterly. This will allow temperatures this
afternoon to top out near normal across the southeast half of the
CWA and although temperatures will be cooler than normal Wednesday
morning, they will only bottom out in the 40s and frost development
is not anticipated. /22/

Wednesday through early next week...

Conditions will remain quiet through much of the extended period
under the influence of high pressure. Temperatures should remain
fairly seasonal through the week, gradually warming towards the
weekend. Dewpoints will also be on the rise ahead of our next wave
that could bring another round of showers and storms early next
week./SAS/
