...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
Straits of Florida from Halfmoon Shoal to 20 nm west of Dry Tortugas
out 60 nm...
Gulf of Mexico including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel...
Gulf Waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 nm out and
beyond 5 fathoms...

At 552 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a
broken band of showers and a few thunderstorms, capable of producing
wind gusts of 30 to 35 knots. These thunderstorms were located from
near L Tower to 46 nm southwest of Tortugas Ecological Reserve
South. The line is moving generally east to southeastward at 15
knots. However, individual cells are racing northeastward along the
line at 30 to 35 knots.

Locations that will be affected include...
Rebecca Shoal Light, Dry Tortugas, Pulaski Shoal Light, Tortugas
Ecological Reserve South, Dry Tortugas Light, Tortugas Ecological
Reserve North, and T Tower.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
