Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1045 PM MDT Sat Apr 20 2024

...A Fire Weather Watch in in effect for Monday morning through
Monday evening for portions of the plains, along with the San Luis
Valley and Fremont County...

.Discussion...

Showers will come to an end overnight, with dry weather and light
winds expected for most locations on Sunday.

On Monday, critical fire weather is expected across the San Luis
Valley, Fremont, Pueblo, and portions of El Paso, Huerfano, and Las
Animas counties, where a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for
gusty winds and low relative humidities. West winds gusting to 35
mph are expected, with relative humidity values falling into the low
teens.

For Tuesday, cooler temperatures and showers are likely over most of
the district. However, it still will be warm and breezy over the San
Luis Valley and near critical fire weather will be possible.

For Wednesday, it will warm up again and breezy conditions will
continue. This will allow critical fire to occur over the San Luis
Valley and southern I-25 corridor region.

A more widespread and impactful critical fire weather event is
likely across all of the district for Thursday and Friday. Strong
southwest surface winds are likely, along with low humidity values
for both days.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will be generally fair across the plains
tomorrow, and very good for the high country. Afternoon dispersion
on Monday will be excellent across the district.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
