.DISCUSSION...Skies will be mostly sunny today with high
temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Winds will be south to
southeast at 10 to 20 mph this afternoon, with gusts to 30 mph
across northwest and west central South Dakota. Relative
humidities will drop to 20 to 30 percent across the area.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this
afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread.
Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning
or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the
relative humidity is higher.

The outlook for Saturday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the moderate category to high category.

this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering
moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on
the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.
