WASHINGTON DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT...

THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW NORMAL. MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION WAS NEAR NORMAL.

IT WAS THE COOLEST AUGUST SINCE 2014.

TWO DAYS BROKE THE RECORD FOR COOLEST DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE:
A HIGH OF 74 ON THE 7TH BROKE THE RECORD OF 76 SET IN 1995.
A HIGH OF 67 ON THE 29TH BROKE THE RECORD OF 68 SET IN 1986.

DESPITE THE COOL MONTH OVERALL, A RECORD DAILY WARM LOW TEMPERATURE
OF 75 WAS SET ON THE 18TH. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 74 SET
IN 2002.

TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION RECORDS AT WASHINGTON DULLES
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BEGAN IN 1960. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN 1962.
