THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION WAS ABOVE NORMAL.

A RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM SNOWFALL OF 4.2 INCHES ON THE 6TH BROKE THE
PREVIOUS RECORD OF 3.9 INCHES SET IN 1989.

FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR...DULLES AIRPORT HAD ABOVE NORMAL
SNOWFALL IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED IN
BACK-TO-BACK YEARS WAS 1987 AND 1988.
