FLOOD STATEMENT

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
western and southern Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White
  River...



.River flooding will continue into and past the holiday weekend in
western and southern Indiana.  Rainfall of 1 to 4 inches on Tuesday
night and Wednesday morning in southwest Indiana caused localized
from and slightly higher river levels to the White River in the
Petersburg and Hazleton areas.

Early this afternoon...significant flooding remained along the Wabash
River from Montezuma to the Ohio River in western Indiana. The
secondary crest was in the Hutsonville area.  Flooding along the
Wabash River will continue past July 10.

The secondary crest on the White River was in Greene County and
approaching western Knox and eastern Daviess Counties.  Rives levels
were more than a foot higher that June levels in northern Greene
County.  Flooding may end along White River in southern Indiana by
July 9.

Lowland flooding may end in the Seymour area of Jackson County
by Saturday.  Flood crests in Lawrence County will be similar to the
high water of June.

Flooding continued to affect local river roads ... extensive
agricultural lands and possibly some residential areas.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The Wabash River at Lafayette.
* until further notice.
* At 11:30 AM Thursday the stage was 18.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 17.2 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Extensive flooding covers many acres of agricultural
  land. Indiana 225 closed by high water. Granville Bridge Public
  Access Site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S floods in
  several places from the Wabash Bottoms...Janssen Tract to Warren CR
  350 N in the Black Rock Perserve Area...a distance of nearly 1.5
  miles. High water affects Fort Ouiatenon area. All parks in the
  West Lafayette and Lafayette areas  are flooded.

* At 11:45 AM Thursday the stage was 23.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Saturday morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Basement flooding begins in 10-12 cottages.  The
  approach to "new" bridge downstream of State Road 28 in Attica
  floods.

* At 11:45 AM Thursday the stage was 25.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 24.5 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 25.5 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  The eastern
  most part of Vermillion CR 600 S impassable just north of US 36.
  The lowest portions of Wabash Road west of Parke CR 600 W begin to
  flood.  Montezuma Public Access Site and low portions of Montezuma
  Park under water.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* At 26.5 feet...Backwater from the Wabash River receded enough along
  Norton Creek to reopen North Main Street just south of SR 63.

* At 22.8 feet...On May 3, 2011 two home in West Terre Haute area
  affected by seep water.  River crested near 24.7 feet about 2 days
  before.

  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 23.9
  feet this afternoon.
* At 23.8 feet...Ball field in Hutsonville is extensively flooded.
  Backtop road the runs along the Wabash River from Hutsonville to
  Palestine is still above flood waters.  Most all of the roads
  leading from this road to the Wabash are underwater...some by
  several feet of water.

  The Wabash River at Riverton.
* until further notice.
* At 11:00 AM Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 23.2 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  Most levees are
  at critical levels.  Water level near the top of a few levees.
  High water begins to affect residences in eastern Palestine,
  Illinois and those along East River road just southeast of
  Palestine.  Some evacuations are necessary. Rodeo area in Leaverton
  Park begins to flood.  Water near or over East River Road south of
  Palestine.

* At 11:45 AM Thursday the stage was 22.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 22.4 feet by
  early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
  Saturday morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Almost all unprotected areas flood.  River cabins are
  surrounded by high water.  Oil fields in lowland areas are
  inaccessible by land vehicles.  Most local river roads flood.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.5 feet by
  Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday
  morning.
* At 25.5 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  Much of the
  flood plain activity is affected by high water.  Numerous local
  river roads flood.

* until Friday evening.
* At 10:45 AM Thursday the stage was 15.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  tomorrow late morning.
* At 15.6 feet...Jackson County Sherriff`s additional roads closed: CR
  25 N through Honeytown, Slab Road between the river and Ewing,
  Rockford Road near the skating rink, SR 235 from Medora to Indiana
  135 possible conflict with Sherriff`s report.  All these closing
  found in the republic.com site published in Columbus, IN.

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and continue
  to rise to near 20.0 feet by Saturday morning.the river will fall
  below flood stage by late Saturday morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Lowest agricultural lands begin to flood near
  Rivervale.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.8 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday early
  afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet...Indiana 157 between Worthington and Bloomfield begins
  to flood.  County Road 175 south of Bloomfield floods.  From Linton
  citzen, CR 100W Between CR 110N and SR 67 (Jefferson Twp), CR 850N
  between SR 48 and SR 157 (Jefferson Twp), CR 250W between SR 54 and
  CR 250N (Fairplay Twp), CR 200 W between CR 157S and CR 260S
  (Washington Twp), CR 100W between CR 100S and CR 260S (Washington
  Twp), and CR 250W and the White River affected by high water.

* At 11:30 AM Thursday the stage was 16.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 17.0 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* At 17.0 feet...Flood waters blocks access and begins to surround
  about 5 to 10 river cabins on south side of the river just
  southwest of Newberry.

* until late Sunday night.
* At  7:00 AM Thursday the stage was 19.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.2 feet by
  tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
  early afternoon.
* At 20.0 feet...Water is at Critical levels for makeshift levees.
  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State Road 358
  between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet.
  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of flood occurs on
  average about once a year.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Petersburg.
* until late Tuesday night.
* At 11:30 AM Thursday the stage was 19.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.9 feet by
  early Sunday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
  afternoon.
* At 20.9 feet...During June 2010 State Road 257 south of Washington
  began to flood at this crest level at Petersburg after Shoals
  crested at 18.19 feet.  About a week later Petersburg crested at
  21.34 feet...about one half foot higher...but the water did not
  reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...about 2.5
  feet lower.  Lost River did not contribute much water during this
  June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Hazleton.
* until Wednesday evening.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.5
  feet Sunday early afternoon.
* At 22.0 feet...In agricultural season, extensive flooding of
  bottomlands and some of the higher bottomlands is in progress.
  High water surrounds Residents in river cabins.  Oil fields and
  local roads flood.
