The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Riverside County in southern California...

* Until 215 AM PST

* At 1011 PM PST, doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain
  which will likely cause flooding along the Whitewater River in the
  Coachella Valley.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
  Palm Springs...Cathedral City...Palm Desert...Rancho Mirage...
  and Indio.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive rainfall over the Whitewater basin is expected to result in
significant flows through the Coachella storm water channel. This
could inundate low-water crossings and possibly create dangerous
swift water stretches.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
