FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
237 AM CST SUN JAN 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...
LOW PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE AND IN UPPER LEVELS WILL
COMBINE TO PRODUCE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY,
AND MORE RAIN TONIGHT. SOME OF THE RAIN WILL BE LOCALLY
HEAVY WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES COMMON, AND SOME LOCATIONS
RECEIVING 2 TO 3 INCHES. THE BEST CHANCE OF HEAVY RAIN
WILL BE IN NORTHEAST ALABAMA. WINDY CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT INTO MONDAY AS THE LOW INTENSIFIES
AND MOVES NORTHEAST THROUGH GEORGIA INTO THE CAROLINAS.
THE RAIN SHOULD END FROM WEST TO EAST MONDAY AFTERNOON AS
THE LOW BEGINS TO DEPART THE REGION. DRY AND MILDER
WEATHER IS EXPECTED TUESDAY, BEFORE ANOTHER COLD FRONT
ARRIVES ON WEDNESDAY. THIS FRONT WILL PRODUCE A FEW LIGHT
SHOWERS WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT BEFORE DRY AND
SEASONABLY COLDER WEATHER ARRIVES LATE THIS WEEK INTO NEXT
WEEKEND.
