422 AM CDT THU OCT 2 2014 /522 AM EDT THU OCT 2 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

HEAVY RAINFALL LEADING TO ISOLATED FLOODING.
DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS TO 65 MPH.
   ISOLATED TORNADOES.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING BUT COVERAGE WILL
INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST. THE MOST
ORGANIZED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THIS EVENING. THERE WILL BE
A CHANCE FOR STORMS TO BECOME SEVERE FROM LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH
  THE EVENING.

  DISCUSSION:

SURFACE LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE FROM THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TO CENTRAL
ONTARIO BY LATE FRIDAY MORNING WITH A STRONG UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
CROSSING THE AREA DURING THAT TIME. EARLY MORNING SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE IN COVERAGE
THROUGH LATE MORNING. THE SURFACE LOW WILL APPROACH THIS
AFTERNOON AND LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE
THROUGH THE EVENING. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ORGANIZED LINE
OF STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE STORMS TO CROSS THE AREA LATE THIS
AFTERNOON OR EARLY THIS EVENING AS THE SYSTEM LIFTS NORTHWARD.
THE DEGREE OF INSTABILITY AND HOW FAR NORTH THE STRONGER STORMS
WILL EXTEND INTO THE OUTLOOK AREA IS STILL IN QUESTION. THERE IS
BETTER CONFIDENCE THAT MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE OUTLOOK AREA WILL
RECEIVE RAINFALL ON THE ORDER OF AN INCH OR SO WITH ISOLATED
HIGHER AMOUNTS IF THUNDERSTORMS BECOME HIGHLY ORGANIZED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

THE FIRST FROST OF THE SEASON APPEARS POSSIBLE IN OUTLYING AREAS
SUNDAY MORNING.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTERS MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING.
