This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Scattered thunderstorms over southeast Missouri, southwest
Kentucky, and the southern tip of Illinois will gradually
diminish this evening. The main hazards with these storms will be
frequent dangerous lightning and very heavy rain. Gusty winds will
occur in some storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Peak heat indices on Wednesday afternoon will be around 105
degrees along and west of a line from Mount Vernon Illinois to
Paducah Kentucky, where a Heat Advisory is in effect. Elsewhere,
heat indices from 100 to 105 are expected in the afternoon.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible again on Wednesday, mainly
east of a line from Mount Vernon to Paducah. A much higher chance
of thunderstorms is forecast on Thursday and Thursday night, when
a cold front will move across our region. Isolated strong to
severe storms are possible, including a few damaging wind gusts.
Locally heavy rain will be a concern due to very high moisture
content in the atmosphere.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated. Spotters should monitor
later outlooks for information on severe weather potential later
this week.
