.Strong northwesterly cold advection will lead to gusty winds
through the day today and through tonight across portions of the
northern North Carolina mountains, as well as locales above
3500 feet across the central and southern mountains.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* LOCATIONS...The northern mountains of western North Carolina.

* HAZARDS...Strong wind gusts.

* TIMING...Starting early this morning lasting through daybreak
  Wednesday.

* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
