...HEAT ADVISORIES IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

.There will continue to be warmer than normal conditions for the
Los Angeles and Ventura County Mountains, San Fernando and Santa
Clarita Valleys through this evening. Although there will continue
to be triple digit heat in the Antelope Valley, excessive heat
warning thresholds will not be met there. It is our policy not to
issue heat advisories for the Antelope Valley.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM PDT
THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 8 AM this morning to 9 PM
PDT this evening.

* TEMPERATURES...Max temperatures will range from the 90s to
  around 105 degrees across the San Fernando Valley, with highs
  ranging from the upper 90s to around 103 across the Santa
  Clarita Valley today.


* IMPACTS...The very high temperatures will create a dangerous
  situation in which there is an increased threat of heat
  related illnesses. Temperatures inside vehicles, even if the
  windows are partially open, can quickly rise to life-
  threatening levels. The extended heat wave will also bring
  elevated fire danger through the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

* TEMPERATURES...Max temperatures will range from the lower 90s
  to around 102 degrees across lower elevations Monday.

* IMPACTS...The very high temperatures could create a dangerous
  situation in which heat related illnesses are possible.
  Temperatures inside vehicles, even if the windows are
  partially open, can quickly rise to life-threatening levels.
  The extended heat wave will also bring elevated fire danger
  through the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Never, ever, leave people or pets in enclosed vehicles, even for
a short period of time.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening.  Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
