...Another strong northerly wind event for the mountains and
southern Santa Barbara County Thursday afternoon into Friday
morning...

.Another round of very strong northerly winds is expected Thursday
afternoon into Friday morning. This event is shaping up to be
similar in strength and areal coverage as the wind event from
Monday night into Tuesday. Strongest winds will be in and around
the Interstate 5 corridor Thursday evening where peak gusts
between 70 and 80 mph are possible. In the other areas covered by
the watch peak winds between 60 and 65 mph are possible.

...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon
through Friday morning.

* WINDS...Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph
  expected Thursday afternoon, increasing to 30 to 50 mph with
  gusts to 80 mph expected by Thursday evening into early Friday
  morning. Strongest through the Interstate 5 corridor.

* IMPACTS...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Watch means that conditions are favorable for
potentially damaging winds of 58 mph or greater. Be prepared to
secure all loose outdoor furniture in advance of the onset of
strong winds. Monitor the latest forecasts on NOAA Weather Radio

THURSDAY NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon
through late Thursday night.

* WINDS...West to northwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60
  mph are expected by Thursday afternoon and continuing into
  Thursday night. Strongest winds will be on the west side of the
  valley and in the foothills.

* IMPACTS...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. This includes Highways
  14 and 138, especially near the foothills.

High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon
through Friday morning.

* WINDS...Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph are

  gusts to 65 mph Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
  Strongest in the Santa Ynez Range, and especially in the hills
  above Montecito.

  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. This includes Highways 101,
  154 and 192...as well as the Gaviota and San Marcos Passes.

  higher peaks.

* IMPACTS...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. This includes Kanan,
  Malibu Canyon, Topanga, and Decker Canyon Roads.
