EMPIRE AND THE SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS THROUGH SATURDAY...

...RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS
SATURDAY...

.STRONG SANTA ANA WINDS WILL RESULT IN CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS IN PORTIONS OF ORANGE COUNTY AND THE INLAND EMPIRE.
WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN THROUGH THE MORNING WITH DAYTIME HUMIDITY
FALLING INTO THE LOW TO MID TEENS AND POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERY.
GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY WITH WIDESPREAD DRIER
CONDITIONS. CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY
WITH WEAKENING WINDS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM PST SATURDAY. THE
FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* WIND...NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS 20 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65
  MPH ON THE COASTAL SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS AND THROUGH THE CAJON
  PASS.

* HUMIDITY...HUMIDITY FALLING TO 10 TO 15 PERCENT SATURDAY
  AFTERNOON.

* TIMING...6 AM SATURDAY THROUGH 6 PM SATURDAY.

* OUTLOOK...WINDS WILL START TO WEAKEN AND HUMIDITY WILL START TO
  INCREASE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT START MAY EXHIBIT RAPID GROWTH AND
  EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.

  GUSTS OF 70 TO 80 MPH OR POSSIBLY GREATER ARE EXPECTED IN THE
  WIND PRONE PASSES OF THE SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND ON THE SOUTH
  SLOPES OF THE SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS.

* HUMIDITY...FALLING TO 15 PERCENT THIS AFTERNOON WITH POOR
  OVERNIGHT RECOVERY. HUMIDITY THEN FALLING TO 8 TO 15 PERCENT
  SATURDAY.

* TIMING...NOON TODAY THROUGH 6 PM SATURDAY.

* OUTLOOK...WINDS WILL START TO WEAKEN AND HUMIDITY WILL START
  TO INCREASE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY.
