...River Statement For The Cahaba River...
Heavy rainfall during the past couple days is producing rises on the
Cahaba River. However...levels are expected to remain below
established flood stages...and any overflow along the river should be
of a minor nature.
The Cahaba River At Marion Junction.
Latest stage: 16.5 feet at 12 AM Monday.
Caution stage: 15.0 feet.
Flood stage: 36.0 feet.
Forecast: Crest near 17.3 feet this morning
and then begin to fall. Second crest near 17.0 ft
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
cattle need to be moved to higher ground.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected today and
tonight. If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
