Saturday was another warm summer like day in the Heartland. Despite
puffy cumulus clouds scattered across the area, temperatures rose
quickly into the 80s in the morning hours. By mid afternoon,
temperatures had reached the mid to upper 80s. South winds were
light throughout the day.
As a weak front passes through, a few isolated storms are possible
this afternoon and evening across southern Indiana and the Pennyrile
area of western Kentucky.
Weak high pressure will build in early this week keeping most areas
dry. The forecast remains warm and humid but mostly dry Monday
through Wednesday with high temperatures in the upper 80s to around
The best chance of storms this week is Wednesday and Thursday as the
next cold front moves through the area. Behind the front, we will
see cooler and drier conditions for the rest of the work week.
