...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

At 455 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles northwest of Bluff, or 20 miles southwest of Blanding, moving
southwest at 15 mph.

This storm has been producing frequent cloud-to-ground lighting.
Additionally, half inch hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will be
possible with this storm.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern San
Juan County.

This includes U.S. Highway 163 in Utah between mile markers 33 and
37.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rainfall is also likely occurring with this storm, and may
lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
