...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ALERT FOR SHELBY COUNTY...

FUNNELS HAVE BEEN REPORTED THIS AFTERNOON NEAR DEFIANCE IN
NORTHERN SHELBY COUNTY. THESE FUNNELS WERE SEEN BY EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT IN THE AREA...AND ONE REPORTEDLY TOUCHED DOWN FOR A
VERY BRIEF TIME.

THERE IS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY IN THIS AREA WITH WEAK THUNDERSTORMS.
DUE TO LACK OF ROTATION INSIDE THE STORMS...ANY FUNNEL CLOUD
TOUCHDOWN WILL BE BRIEF AND RELATIVELY WEAK. THUS A TORNADO
WARNING WILL NOT BE ISSUED AT THIS TIME.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO CLOSELY MONITOR
STORMS IN THE AREA. HOWEVER THE STORMS WILL BE MOVING OUT OF
SHELBY COUNTY SHORTLY.
