...Pockets of dense fog across the northern coastal plain and far
northeast Piedmont early this morning...

Areas of fog will develop across the northern coastal plain and
northeast Piedmont early this morning with pockets of dense fog
probable. The dense fog will reduce the visibility to less than a
quarter of a mile. Motorists on I-85 north of Durham may encounter
pockets of thick fog, as well as motorists on highway 1 north of
Wake Forest. If it appears that the dense fog will become
widespread, an advisory will be issued. The fog will linger
through daybreak then lift and dissipate by 9 AM.

Be on the lookout for sudden changes in visibility. Visibility
can drop quickly over short distances, especially near rivers,
lakes and other low-lying areas.
