Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
249 PM MDT Thu May 9 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Friday...Cool and relatively moist
conditions will remain in place through Friday. Winds will stay
light. Scattered to numerous showers can be expected in/near the
Front Range with a focus for accumulating snow for the higher
foothills and mountains along and south of I-70, including South
Park, tonight into Friday morning. A few showers will redevelop
Friday afternoon, with a rumble or two of thunder possible but any
thunder coverage would remain isolated.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday night through Tuesday...Unsettled
weather pattern with chances for scattered afternoon showers and
thunderstorms. Relative humidity stays above 30 percent for the
weekend. The plains dry out early next week with the help of a
weak upper level ridge with temperatures around or just above
normal. Breezy conditions Sunday with gusts less than 30 mph.
Marginally breezy conditions on Monday. No critical fire weather
conditions expected. Smoke dispersal will be poor in the high
country Saturday, but fair to good on the plains. Smoke dispersal
improves Sunday to good in the high country and very good across
the plains.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
